VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Walnut Acres Elementary is looking for volunteer high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are interested in being cabin leaders for 5th graders at Walker Creek Outdoor Education camp. Camp dates are Monday - Friday, October 25 - 29. Students will be responsible for supervising a group of approximately 8-12 boys or girls for five days and four nights. FOOTBALL MEAT & SEAFOOD FUNDRAISER A HUGE SUCCESS!!! A great big THANK YOU to all those who supported our Bronco Football team by purchasing meat & seafood at our fundraiser over the weekend! We will definitely do this again later in the year. Watch for information before summer begins! Also, thank you to
all the volunteers (Football and Cheer) who generously donated their time and energy to making this event successful. We certainly couldn’t have done it without you. GO BRONCOS!!

NORTHGATE IMPROV TEAM TRYOUTS: Tryouts for the Improv Team will be taking place Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (9/8-9/10) right after school in the Little Theater.

SIGN UP FOR WORK EXPRESS: Seniors who have jobs can earn credits while working. Work experience meets one day a week, Thursdays in Room 92. Students can sign up for either Period 5 or Period 6 and can earn up to 10 credits per semester. See Mrs. Rubino in the office to sign up.

SUPPORT THE SENIOR CLASS! Please support the Senior Class at their Fund Raiser Night at Rocco’s and Yogurt Station on Thursday, Sept. 9th. Please mention the Senior Class when you buy items at either of these places that night. Proceeds will help to pay for senior activities. Thanks for your support!

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS: Come to Northgate's first ever home night football game this Friday, September 3 at 7:00pm. Wear Crimson and Gold and help us beat Dublin!

CAMPUS CLEAN-UP: Last March, over 600 students and parents descended on the Northgate campus and worked together to leave it a better place. Don't miss this opportunity to be inolved in the Fall Campus Clean-Up Day on Saturday, March 25 from 9:00am - 12:00pm. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend. This event is for students, parents, and staff members of the Northgate community. Volunteer to help beautify our campus by cleaning, painting, and landscaping. Look for more information in the coming weeks.

COLLEGE AND CAREER: Your new College and Career Center Advisors Linda Clark and Kathy Johnson invite you to meet us. Stop by the College and Career Center to say hello and get your questions answered. We look forward to helping the seniors with their college choices, applications and essays. Seniors are Seniors are encouraged to stop by and sign up for an appointment to meet with either one of us regarding college, taking a Gap Year or careers and jobs. If you are a studentathlete and want to play your sport in college be sure to see Ms. Johnson. We look forward to seeing you at the Senior Parent Night on September 23. Come on in anytime and say hello-we’re in the back of the library.

PSAT INFORMATION: The PSAT (Preliminary SAT) is a great way to get a taste of the SAT. If you take it as a junior and score well, you may qualify for National Merit Scholarship. Sophomores may also take the test just to get an idea of what the test is like. The test will be on Saturday October 16, 2010 at NHS. Information about buying tickets for the test will be coming soon on the Daily Bulletin.

THE SAT AND ACT: If you are taking the SAT (October 9) or the ACT (September 11) we have plenty of practice workbooks or can direct you to many standardized test prep companies. Register online for the SAT at Collegeboard.com and the ACT at actstudent.org.

THE NORTHGATE SENIOR CLASS NEEDS YOUR HELP! The Northgate Senior Class will be hosting a BBQ Fundraiser during the “Friday Night Lights” games on Friday, September 3rd. We will be serving Hot Dog and Hamburger Meal Deals. We are requesting donations from our Northgate community in order to keep our costs down. The following is a list of items needed by Thursday, September 2nd: Cases of soda (diet and regular), bottled water, or small Gatorades individual packages of assorted chips, large cookiesm 1/4 lb. frozen hamburgers from Costco (24 to each pkg) and packages of hot dogs and buns. Dear Northgate Community, 

Our students will soon take a series of high stakes tests, which measures the academic performance of the student and school.  The tests are referred to as the California Standards Tests (CST’s), or the STAR test (STAR is the legislative label for standardized testing in California). The CST tests will be given Monday-Friday, May 03-07, for student’s grades 9-11.   All tests are designed to reflect our students mastery of the content standards mandated by the state of California.  Performance on these tests guides our remediation efforts for curriculum and instruction...
